Emily Phaup serves as Senior Manager of Professional Development at Campus Compact, where she leads initiatives to support community-engaged practitioners across higher education institutions. As an educational mobilizer, Emily works to build capacity and create pathways for practitioners to advance community-engaged scholarship and practice. She holds a Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Free-Choice Learning from Oregon State University and an M.A. in Sustainable Communities from Northern Arizona University.
Emily's research focuses on institutional support structures for community-engaged faculty and graduate education for community engagement. With particular expertise in professional development for community-engaged practitioners, she has contributed significantly to advancing the field's capacity-building efforts. Emily has demonstrated sustained commitment to IARSLCE through previous leadership roles, including service as Chair of the Graduate Student Network and Co-Chair of the Special Programming Committee. Through her service to IARSLCE and other field-building efforts, she has worked to strengthen professional pathways and educational opportunities within the service learning and community engagement field.
